When it comes to brightening your smile, you have a seemingly endless list of products to choose from. Zoom!® teeth whitening remains at the top of the list thanks to its speed and effectiveness. Here are seven reasons to say yes to this treatment.

If you’re dealing with discolored teeth,  you’re not alone. Stains are a top concern when it comes to smile satisfaction, but you’re not stuck hiding a yellow smile forever.

At Smile Design Studio of Bethesda, our team of dentists offers several methods for brightening your smile including veneers, Zoom!® professional teeth whitening, and LaserSmile® teeth whitening.

We recommend the right option for you during your consultation at our Bethesda, Maryland, office. In the meantime, here are seven reasons to choose Zoom! to whiten your teeth.

Zoom! treatments are fast

As the name suggests, Zoom! teeth whitening treatments are fast. Excluding prep time, the whole process takes about 45 minutes. Once we apply the gel to your teeth, we use a special light to activate the hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel for about 15 minutes. We repeat this 15-minute procedure two more times.

Compared to many at-home products, which can take weeks to produce minimal results, 45 minutes seems like the blink of an eye.

Zoom! teeth whitening is effective

While there are many over-the-counter (OTC) teeth whitening options, they’re not all created equally. That’s because OTC products just aren’t as strong as professional-grade products. The Zoom! whitening agent is 25% hydrogen peroxide, while at-home options contain much lower concentrations.

Additionally, in-office Zoom! treatments combine the power of  the whitening gel with the

Philips Zoom! Blue LED light-accelerated technology. The light speeds up the entire whitening process.

In just one appointment, you can experience significantly whiter teeth — about eight shades brighter.

You get the customized advice you need

Not all stains respond to teeth-whitening products. For example, you can’t whiten veneers, crowns, or teeth that are permanently stained.

When you come to Smile Design Studio of Bethesda, we make sure that whitening treatments are right for you before proceeding. Even if Zoom! treatments aren’t ideal for you, you’re not out of options. You might, instead, benefit from veneers.

The bottom line: You get the treatment that’s right for you and your smile.

You can customize your Zoom! treatments

Zoom! treatments are available in two formats: in-office treatments or professional-grade take-home trays. This means you can customize your experience to whiten your teeth how and where you feel most comfortable doing so.

Your results can be long-lasting

While individual results vary, many of our patients experience long-lasting whitening effects from Zoom!, regardless of whether they choose the in-office or take-home versions.

You can further extend your results by practicing good oral hygiene, rinsing your mouth after eating stain-inducing foods, scheduling routine dental cleanings, and using a straw to drink iced coffee.

The Zoom! whitening system reduces sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity is the most common side effect when it comes to teeth whitening treatments. It’s often mild and short-lived, but if a product can help reduce it, that’s even better. The Zoom! whitening system includes desensitizing agents to minimize tooth sensitivity.

Post-treatment Relief ACP is part of the Zoom! system. It’s a gel that:

  • Helps protect your enamel
  • Improves the luster of your teeth
  • Reduces sensitivity

In addition to the Relief ACP gel, we also protect your gums with cotton roils and a dental dam.

Teeth whitening treatments boost your confidence

If stained teeth leave you feeling self-conscious about your smile, imagine what a brighter, whiter smile can do. A brighter smile can boost your confidence and self-esteem, and that makes Zoom! teeth whitening an attractive addition to your smile makeover.
